The Plot:
This is a world divided by blood - red or silver. The reds are the commoners, ruled by a silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen year old Red girl from the Poverty stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change.
That is until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates, Mare discovers that, despite her Red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy the balance of power.

Fearful of Mare's potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver Princess, now engaged to a Silver Prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime.
But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance - Reds against Silvers; Prince against Prince; and Mare against her own heart.

My Thoughts:
I had only heard good things about this, yet I knew nothing about the book itself. Something that I adore. I think it is a beautiful moment when barely anything is known about a book. You can dive headfirst into a whole new world.

Personally I found the first chapter and a half a little bit boring. Okay, maybe not boring but it took me a long time to read it. Mainly it was a tad bit slow.
However, the rest of the book made up for this. It was so well executed. The characters were so believable and that twist!

There really isn't a lot I can say about this book without spoiling it for the masses. It's the type of book which you don't need to know a lot about it to enjoy. The blurb is all that you need. So I shall simply say this ..... go and read it!

Rating:
This book was all but perfect and if it hadn't have been for the slow opening then it probably would have been perfect. Sadly it took me a while to get into the book so I'm going to have to give this book ****
