Crazy Thoughts That Go Through My Head At 3am

20:03
My brain is strange. Literally, it is really really strange. I will be doing something and then suddenly my mind will wander and I will be thinking about some random thing. This mainly happens when I go to bed; especially when something important is going to happen the next day.

So this post is going to express the mad things that run through my head at 3am.

Picture this, I'm simply lying in the dark, cuddling up with my toothless. Basically I'm asleep, or close to sleep. I have a rather peculiar sleeping pattern, but that's not to the point. I'm lying there, in my bed and I'm drifting, ever so slowly, into to the land of dreams when suddenly my brain kicks into action.

What was that noise?

I have noisy neighbours with two young kids, so I should be used to these loud noises that filter from next door. But my mind gets the best of me. Now I live with my parents so I shouldn't be scared, should I? Wrong; sounds freak me out.

A murder is hiding downstairs and they are going to come and get you!

I'm an idiot really, but I sometimes believe what my brain is telling me. So I will scurry out of bed and then look downstairs before shutting my door completely and then staring at the door whilst listening for the stairs.

So then, I'll calm down and slowly I'll be drifting back off to sleep when ...

Need a drink!

And of course my water bottle is empty. So that means that I have to climb out of bed, again, and I fill up me bottle.

Right, sleep time now! Right? Wrong!

Remember that song that you were told to learn? The one that is 18 pages long and changes key like 50 times? Yeah, that'd being performed tomorrow; first thing.

And, of course, my brain would remind me of this. So now I'll be hyperventilating and praying to all the performing Gods that my teacher will miraculously fall sick over night and I will have an extra night to learn the piece. But I eventually stop and decide that I will be doing a lot of learning on the train the next morning,

Finally just as I am definitely drifting to sleep, My mind decides to tell me one more thing ...

Need the toilet!

Seriously! My brain sounds like a toddler!

Conventions

17:10
At the end of September 2014, I went to my first ever convention with a very close friend of mine. It was only a small convention, it was the first time that it had ever taken place, so I didn't feel too overwhelmed. But I loved it so much.

There were actually some really well known celebrities there. Chris Rankin who played Percy Weasley was there. Colin Baker, who was the sixth Doctor. Paul Blake who played Greddo in Star Wars. And many more. They were some of the nicest people that I've met and I found it really easy to talk to them and some of the other fangirls who were there. It really boost my confidence, although internally I was shaking and actually begging myself to go and hide loos or something. If I hadn't had one of my dearest friends there with me, who at times is even more shy than I, I probably would have just mumbled my way through the day.

But I couldn't do that, because I had to put on the face of someone who's brave and I spoke to some of the most amazing people ever!

I was able to ask questions about filming and just genuinely talk to these people who I still consider to be very famous. It was such an amazing experience.

But I also have to mention the best thing about the convention - minus the celebs of course. The merchandise available.

Next time I go to one of these conventions, I am definitely going to save up more money. There some completely amazing works of art, clothes, original props. I loved it!

I fell in love with a framed, original drawing of the map of Middle Earth, and if I'd had seen at the beginning of the day then I would have been able to buy because I had more than enough. Instead, me and my friend jumped at the prospect of meeting so many people, that we completely ignored the merch stalls. And because I spent money on autographs and photos, by the time I found this completely amazing piece of work. Well, I hadn't got enough money to buy it!

I'm still heart broken! I can see this beautiful frame in my head, and I keep dreaming that it's on my wall, but it isn't. It is somewhere else. Someone else is enjoying the view of it on their wall in their study or bedroom. It makes me sad!

If I get to go to a convention then I will most definitely make the effort to create an outfit and cosplay away. There were some people in the most amazing costumes. One being the Jack Sparrow who I have photo with up the top. He was completely in character, and was one of the best Jack Sparrow impersonation that I've ever seen. I thought he was Johnny Depp for a start! He was brilliant and absolutely hilarious when he fanboying at some of the celebs. It was brilliant! I want to impress people like and beginning able to act like a character would be brilliant if I'm honest.

I need to go another convention soon, Stoke Con Trent was amazing - far more amazing than their clever little pun - and I want to experience it again; somewhere different, bigger. A convention that has more beautiful celebs in! Can that happen please?

Review | Her by Harriet Lane

10:15
What You Need To Know:

Title: Her
Author: Harriet Lane
Number Of Pages: 288
Genres: Contemporary Fiction, Thriller, Drama
Publisher: W&N
Published: 12th June, 2014

The Plot:

All women live different lives and yet it seems that they are all connected in some ways. Nina is a successful artist. She's sophisticated, independent, completely in control of her whole life. Emma was all that, but gave everything up - including financial stability - in order to raise a family.

No one would believe that there is something between the two of them. The two women are so different, they have nothing in common to the outside world. Maybe the fact that they are both mother's, but nothing else.

But when the two women meet, Nina takes Emma her wing - in a way - and rescues from several disasters.

To Emma, Nina is a gift but something that she also envies; wishing that she could reclaim that life again. But Emma is something else for Nina because she wants revenge for ... something.
The two have met before; a long time ago. Nina remembers Emma, but Emma doesn't remember Nina.
The question is, what does Nina really want from Emma? And how far would she actually go to pursue this.

My Thoughts On The Book:

This book, I sadly have to admit, was very hard to get into. Harriet Lane has a strange writing style. By this I mean that she constantly uses complex sentences and it's rather hard to understand the narrative of the main character when you have to keep rereading a previous section in order to understand when the sentence begins and ends. At one point, I think she used at least ten commas in one sentence; not to mention the use of semi colons and stuff.

But getting all that, the book was rather good. The characters were fairly believable; they could be normal people, I suppose. I enjoyed the fact that each chapter switched the narrative between Emma and Nina. How things were explained in detail about what the other was thinking. Yet, sometimes, it annoyed me how chapters would overlap and you'd basically be reading the same thing over and over again. It felt dull really.

When I bought the book, I was told that it was going to - and I quote - 'blow my mind'. I went in to buy Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. But the book was listed as being a part of buy one, get one half price. So I asked one of the guys who worked there, what they could suggest. They said that Her was like Gone Girl, but better. Now, I haven't actually read Gone Girl yet, but I don't think that I'd agree with that statement. Hey, I know that's their opinion. But still, it annoys. He'd really hyped the book up to me and I was really excited to read it; maybe that's why I disliked it so much. Usually books that have received such a huge hype usually annoy me; and I find that I don't like them as much as I'd like to.

The main reason that I didn't like this book was the ending. I have to say that I am so confused about what went on at the end. I think I know but not really. I still don't understand it, and that was like three, four hours ago. What the hell!!!!!!!!!!!! If any one else has read this, then please let me know what you think happened; because really I have absolutely no idea!

Rating:

This book wasn't completely awful, but is also wasn't amazing either. That's why I'm only going to give this book: ***. I'm sorry, but these are my opinions. It can't be helped, but I really didn't enjoy this book.

Confessions Of A Geeking Ginger | 2

17:50
This is something that I'm actually not that proud of and I really do want to fix it some time soon. I call myself a reader and yet I don't do one thing. That one thing is probably going to disgust you as much as it has disgusted me. Ready?

I've read barely any classics. I know, I know, I call myself a reader .... a bookworm .... but I've barely read any classics. I feel stupid saying it. How has this happened? I mean I'm not so bad that I've never read like 1984 or The Odyssey of The Illiad but I haven't actually read any other full classics. I've read the children editions; like the Hound of the Baskervilles and all of The Chronicles of Narnia. But I've never read The portrait of Dorian Gray or Les Miserables. I've started both of them but I've never actually read them. I feel so bad about that.

I want to build up a collection of them all. Penguin classics that I can put on a shelf or book case of there own and then I can just appreciate the writing in them. It's something that I want to do; I just need the time and money to actually do it.

But that horrible, horrible confession is the second of my Confessions Of A Geeking Ginger. I apologise and I do plan on confronting the issue as soon as possible; but until then I must beg your forgiveness. It really is a horrible thing to admit, the fact that so many classics have gone unread for so long, but it will - eventually - be confronted. I promise that!

Review | Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

18:48
What You Need To Know:

Title: Eleanor & Park
Author: Rainbow Rowell
Number of Pages: 336
Genres: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance,
Publisher: Orion
Published: 28th February, 2013

The Plot:

Eleanor is a new girl in their small town. She was suddenly picked up by her mother, after being picked out and being forced to live on some else's couch. She is forced to live with her siblings and her mother's boyfriend; the reason that she was forced to leave in the first place. It's because of all that, and the fact that she doesn't exactly look like your average person (crazy red hair, mismatch clothes and a bit of a weight issue), means that she'd never felt more alone.

That is until she meets Park. It all starts when they're forced to sit together on the bus as there are no spaces left and Park is apparently the only half decent person in the school. Slowly the two teenagers begin to warm to each other, through the bonding of music and comic books. And as time wears on, the two begin to enter a relationship that makes them ... more than friends.

Through all this, Eleanor is facing a hard time both at school and at home. He's beginning constantly bullied by practically everyone, expect for Park, and she receives weird, almost pedophilic, messages on her books. On top of this, her stepdad/mum's boyfriend is a complete and utter abusive asshole.

But what does all that really matter to Eleanor & Park? They're 16 and very much in love; so really, as long as they have one another, everything else doesn't matter; right?

My Thoughts On The Book:

I blooming loved this book. I was obsessed with Fangirl when I read it an few months ago and I've hunting for more of Rainbow Rowell's books ever since. I was delighted when I finally located Eleanor & Park. I was shopping - hunting for birthday presents for my dad - when I found this. I had to wait twenty minutes for my train (I was in Birmingham) and then I had a twenty minute train ride and then I had to wait another half an hour for my mum to pick me up from my station. In that time, I was able to read 150 or 160 of the pages in the book. That was in what .. an hour and a half? I think you can understand why I loved it so much. If I didn't have work I would have finished the second half of the book in perhaps another hour or two. Alas, I did ... have work that is. Four hours later (I don't work for very long on a friday) I was able to curl back up and finish off the book.

Ugh ... it was so amazing! I loved every moment of it. Rainbow Rowell has been blessed with a magnificent talent for stringing words together.

I don't think that there were any point in the book that I didn't like. Yes, some of the character portrayals - the kids at the end being drunk - I didn't think were two realistic. But it was a sudden scene that was so gripping that I didn't really mind. Bare in mind that you do sometimes get that when a adult is writing in a teenage's point of view. It happens!

Also, I wasn't that sure on the third person aspect to it all. There are two points of views through out, one is of Eleanor and the other is of Park. There could be a dozen or so of these in one chapter or just the one. But these were all in third person. Personally I didn't like this. It felt less realistic, but I don't particularly like third person/split point of view books. It still worked though, it's just something that I would have done differently.

But they are the only two things that I didn't really like. I mean, in my opinion, the character's were extremely believable. It wasn't so outlandish that I couldn't that it would be happening in a house down the street or in a school near me or to some one I know. And that is something that I love. Yes, some of the things that happen I wouldn't wish on anyone. But it was very realistic. And it held a cute little love story in it, something that we all want to feel. It was just ... lovely.

Rating:

And for the reasons that I have listed above, that is why this book is most definitely a five out of five stars!

Rain

21:01
I love the rain. I know that sounds really strange, but I love the rain so much. I always have. I think it's to do with the concept of it all. Rain heals the earth, and I think that's beautiful. The way the world feels after it rains, the freshness of it all. I love that. I love the crisp air and the damp earth and ... well the fresh smell that just follows you everywhere. I love that. It really makes me feel like I could be a new person. That I simply was away all my bad qualities and become some one that I really want to be. That's sounds a bit weird, doesn't it.

The main thing that I like the most about rain is what it allows me to do. On days like today, when there have been like a million cloud bursts and it has been pouring it down with rain and I can't actually go outside, I love being able to curl up somewhere when the rain can pelt one of my windows and I can just curl up with a blanket and a mug of tea with my book and just read for hours on end. It's a really good way for me to waste time.

I wish I had a gigantic bay window so that I could sit in it on days like today and look out at the view occasionally whilst I can read for ever. Can't you just picture that though. A steaming mug of tea fogging up the window with a blanket and a few pillows piled up on the bench. The light would be just right and there would be a breath taking view. It might be off of London, or some other city, and I could watch the cars, buses and bikes stream past. Or it might be in the countryside and I could do a bit of nature watching through out the day. It would be wonderful.

Think that will be the one thing that I look for when I move into a home of my own. A place with a bay window (or a window that I could use in the same way as above). Obviously it has got to have a wall that can be completely dedicated for my books, but I really need it to include a bay window.

Review | The Drowning of Arthur Braxton by Caroline Smailes

23:38

What You Need To Know:

Title: The Drowning of Arthur Braxton
Author: Caroline Smailes
Number of Pages: 371
Genres: Contemporary Fiction, Fantasy
Publisher: The Friday Project
Published: 11 April, 2013

The Plot:

The Oracle is an old Victorian Bathhouse that is said to have water that can heal those who swim in it. There are various narratives who talk about the tales that have unfolded in this bathhouse. The first being a young girl called Laurel who was a receptionist who worked for the 'water-healers' in the 1990s.

Several years later, Arthur Braxton breaks in to the bathhouse in order to escape some of the guys from his school. In the now derelict Oracle, Arthur meets a beautiful girl who is swimming in one of the pools, completely naked. Delphina transforms his life and when the Oracle is threatened, Arthur is finally able to understand his true purpose in life: save the building and ensure that Delphina is happy.

It's not an easy ordeal to undertake and as he tries to save the Oracle, he begins to understand what is actually going on in the Oracle and who Delphina actually is.

My Thoughts On The Book:

I absolutely loved this book. Apparently it has been given the title of 'Urban Fairytale' and I can't think of anything better to call it. The style of the book, with its various narratives and the way that it is speaks so much about young love or true love or what ever you want to call it, whilst still mentioning modern issues like bullying; it is bloody amazing!

There were various narratives through out the book, and the few near the end of the book made me feel like they were actually talking to me. I truly believe that it was story telling at its finest. Each of there were two main narratives, Arthur and Delphina, and both of them were completely different. Arthur's was like his thought process whilst Delphina's was literally a manuscript for a play. Usually I wouldn't like this, but it really did seem to work for this book! And if I think that it'll work, then it definitely did work ... because in my mind only my opinion matters; obviously.

The one negative comment that I have to say about this book is that it did take me a while to get in to. The book starts with a segment of foreshadowing and this did put me off the book for a moment. But after about ten pages, I started to get into and by the time that we were in Arthur's narrative ... well, I was completely in love with the bloody thing. I'm really glad that I stuck with this book though, and didn't give up at the first hurdle. If you are one of those people, then just me keep going. It's one of the main reasons that I fell in love with it!

Rating:

This is my publicly visible review of a book and so people might think that I am being generous. But I truly believe that this book is worth this!

Five out of five!

Do note that I want to create a reviewing system with symbols and stuff so that all this looks fancy and maybe I'll create a system too. Who knows.

That's it, my first review on here. No going back now! What do you think? Please tell me. Who's read this book? Who wants to read it? Please let me know. Also, any ideas on how I could improve these reviews? I know that a girl has to start somewhere, but it would mean a lot if I could get a bit of help!

I guess I lied when I said  that I wouldn't be uploading anything else in March ... oops. There might be another one, but if not ... GOODBYE MARCH!

Being an Introvert

22:20
Introvert definition –
Noun;
A shy, reticent person
Psychology;
A person predominantly concerned with their own thoughts and feelings than with external things.

I am an introvert. I have been for a very long time and up until recently I haven’t actually known what to call myself. People have always told me that I am simply shy, and that as I get older I will grow out of it. But I’m not just shy. I hate talking to people. Not all people, just people I’ve not known for very long. When I started at my new school, I sat on my own for the first three weeks because I was too terrified to actually speak to anyone. It wasn’t a nice feeling. I spent these weeks eating alone and lying to my parents to say that I had made some friends and that they were really nice. Yeah … that’s probably also due to the fact that I likely also suffer from social anxiety too … so … yay!

But being an introvert, for me anyway, is strange because I do prefer to be mostly inward with the things that I do. I prefer to sit down and write or read, rather than going to a house party and getting “hammered”. I don’t even like alcohol so what’d be the point anyhow! I prefer sitting alone and allowing my thoughts to take over and imagine far off places, to sitting in a group of people I don’t really want to be friends with.

Yet, I have selected the one career that truly puts me out there; that shows off my life to the world and I love it! What does that make me? I hate doing a lot of things, talking to people I don’t know or answering the phone. These things terrify me and I find myself hyperventilating at times. However, I adore stepping onto the stage and becoming a character; something different.

Bet that sounds strange to people who don’t know me, but I really am like that. If I don’t spend put on an act and become a different person then I probably would have a serious anxiety attack when on stage and I’d like crawl of stage and then cry for millions of years! I’m not over exaggerating, I’d probably do that but I am not going to actually attempt it next time I perform because … well I’d look a bit stupid, wouldn’t I!

Maybe then, I could battle this whole being an introvert thing by becoming a character. That sounds odd, doesn’t it! Let me explain. If I wanted to battle the introvertiness inside me so that I can be confident with strangers and stuff, then I could create a character that is me but more confident and outgoing and sociable. I would use this character so much that hopefully some of the traits could pour into my own society and then I would be more confident and outgoing and sociable and stuff!

That might not work though, I do have social anxiety! Who knows, if it did then I would be very happy. If it did not, then there are other options that I could probably take … may be … may be not … Who knows; I’m awkward like that.

Anyway, that is what it is like for me to be an introvert.  Went a little bit off topic but that is what I do.
This is probably going to be the last blog of March, so goodbye March. Hello to April. Happy Easter!

Traveler's Tales | 1

21:49
This is something that I've really wanted to start, since I spend most of my time on public transport as I have to travel on train to and from school. Finally I have had an amusing experience on the train and I think it is something that you will all find amusing.

Today is a Thursday. It is Thursday the 19th March, 2015 ... thought I'd let you all know that. Most Thursdays I get to come home an hour early because one of my teacher's is on maternity leave so my other teacher has to cover all her G.C,S,E classes. So most weeks we get to come home early; I'm not complaining, I love getting to come home an hour early!

Today, the train station was fairly busy. Usually I get a seat, sometimes even a table to myself, on the train. But not a chance today. Since I am a train expert, I know exactly where the doors will open ... yes I am that sad. So I was easily one of the first people on the train. This meant that I got a seat easily.

However on my train were two girls from my old school. They were originally quite nice but as they got popular ... well, they became complete bitches. They were glaring at me a lot as I walked past. I nodded instead, smiled at them too. Even though they had both been horrid to me.

Anyway, when I got on the train, the seats filled up quickly. So these girls ended up standing right next to me. I was in the aisle seat. There was an awkward silence for a while, as I tried to read my book. But they kept clearly their throats really strangely and it was rather distracting. So in the end, I put my book down and started a conversation.

It was pleasant at first. I asked how they were and stuff. Then asked the nicer of the two what she was doing. Apparently she is still at my old school. I then turned to the other girl and asked her the same question. Her answer was hilarious.

"Me? Oh I'm studying at that Performing Arts School here in Birmingham that I auditioned for last year. Birmingham Ormiston Academy. You might have heard of it? It's the sister school to the Brit School in London."

Imagine that being said in a really pompous voice of a popular girl who thinks that she is so much better than everyone else.

For those of you who don't know, I go to BOA and she auditioned at the same time as me and didn't get in. Though of course this two faced bitch would not realise that I actually did get in because I could obviously never reach such a high standard as her. Notice the sarcasm in my words at this. This is a girl who thinks that she is the greatest things since sliced bread, yet it is a girl who has no sense of rhythm, has the same amount of acting skill as a rock and is completely tone deaf. Can you see my amusement in her words.

So I played it dumb at this point. I smiled at her and said.
"That's amazing. I bet your loving it. What pathway are you on?"

She was really really smug at this point, and pushed out her extremely low cut top that left nothing to the imagination *cough cough slut! cough cough*

"I'm on Musical Theatre! It is the best thing ever!" (that's my pathway.)

The ticket guy was coming down from the opposite end of the carriage and my rail pass was conveniently in my school jumper so I had to take off my big coat. My jumper has the letter BOA written in big red letters on my chest so I took my coat off and the bright red writing was facing her.

Her face was priceless! She went crimson. I mean crimson. She was redder than my hair is! She started to stutter and then scurried away. I have never felt so good in my entire life. The other girl was staring wide eyed and didn't really know what to say. She just muttered a short "bye" and then scurried off as I silently died in my seat; tears were literally streaming down my cheeks.

I've got to say that that was probably the single most fantastic experience that I have ever had in my life! I loved the sense of satisfaction. It was rather amusing. I do wish though, that I had a picture of her face though. The image was priceless!

So yeah ... that's me done. Hopefully this series will progress over time but until then who knows. Anyone else ever had something like this happen to them? If so then let me know.

Until next time!

My reading routine

21:49
I don’t get a lot of chances to spend hours and hours reading now; oh the joys of doing a-levels!!!!! But when I do have no remaining work and I actually do have some free time, I do love to curl up and read.

My routine is not as complicated as most people make it out to be. I don’t do loads of stuff beforehand; I just do the things that make me happy, things that make me relax and enjoy my reading.

The first thing I do is pick my book. I have a lot of books; no idea how many there actually are but I have a lot of them. I probably should count them at some point. If I’m not already reading a book then I have to spend a lot of time debating internally about what I should read. It might be in the mood for something sci-fi or something romantic …. who knows what mood I’m in but it will likely take me a very very long time to decide what I want to read.

Next I have to decide where I want to read. In my room, in the lounge, in the garden – but only if the weather is nice, maybe in the conservatory when in it raining. It’s a hard decision but I usually end up reading in my room.

After that I have to make sure I’m wearing something comfy. If it’s boiling, then shorts and a strappy top. If it’s cold, then a baggy jumper and leggings. In the morning, a baggy top and pyjama bottoms. At night, a vest top and pyjama bottoms. Who knows what I’ll put on, but it has to be comfy.

Drink time! Recently I love to have a nice cup of tea with me when I read; it helps me rewind and I feel really British too. But sometimes it might just be some water or some juice. I need something there in case I suddenly choke on air … I’m serious … that has happened before.

Once my drink is ready, and I have quickly avoided the serious temptation that the devious biscuits and sweets have on me, I will make my reading space comfortable. If I’m in my room then I will put some music on. I have Spotify so I will find a ‘chill’ or ‘indie/alternative’ or ‘focus’ playlist and either loudly blast them out to the whole house, or have my headphones in and allow my subconscious to take over with my book and music on. Then I draw my curtains and put on my lamps. I can’t stand having my overhead lights on when I’m reading. It makes the room to bright and I feel like I’m in a hospital. But my little lamps have this soft texture to them that can really relax me. Pillows have to be propped up in the centre of the bed with a few cushions and teddies gathered round accordingly. Then there is one final thing, light a candle. I have several nice smelling candles in my room so having to choose between them is hard but once I get one lit and those scents waft around the room, I am finally able to relax.

Phone on silent, music on, book in hand, tea by my side, the perfect combination for a reader. All that’s left is to slide my headphones in my ear and allow words as pure as poetry to fill my mind and transport me somewhere else.

That is my reading routine. I took this from the Youtuber YA Bookworm Blogger. I know that this is supposed to be a video but who gives an actual damn! I wanted to share this with you, it was my choice so yeah … that’s why I did this.

Anyone want to share this too? I dare you! I don’t know anyone to really tag on here to do this but if you want to do this then go ahead!!!!

R.I.P Leonard Nemoy L.L.A.P

10:31
On the 28th February 2015, on of the greatest Geeking Actors sadly passed away. His name was Leonard Nemoy, more commonly known as Spock and his passing has to be one of the saddest things in the world for me.

When I saw the hastag #RIPLeonardNemoy on twitter, I initally thought that it was a joke. There have been a lot of similar sick jokes like that going about but it turned out that it was actually true. That was something that I truly couldn't believe. Yes the man was 83 years old but he looked fairly young. I found myself believing that he would never die, he was too great too be lost. But he did.

It turns out that he had Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, which is a type of lung disease. I didn't even know that the man was ill; but he did reveal that he was ill publicly in February.

This is a man who was a geeky actor before it was socially acceptable, something that I have always loved and I will never be able to see Spock as anyone else.

The fact that #llap is still trending all these days later means a lot. It shows how much he was accepted by everyone and how loved he was; something that I bet is helping his family so much.

Confessions of a Geeking Ginger! | 1

14:12
So this is a segment that I've wanted to include for so long. I have a lot of opinions on various things, or things that I would like the admit and instead of doing this huge, 10,0000 plus word blog then I thought that I could split it up so that it became part of this huge, long running series. Then if there was something new that I had to admit to you all then I could do so by editing something fifty million times!!!!

The first opinion that I have, I am slightly fearful for myself since I am going to admit this to you all. It's a bit risky but I am going to tell you now. Okay ... right ... deep breath .... please don't kill me for saying this .... but .... well I don't like John Green's writing ................................................... going to go and lock the door to my room now and never come out again!

I'm sorry to say this but I really don't like his work at all. Before I am hung, drawn and quartered can I please explain it you why I don't like it? I want to justify myself before I inevitably die.

Everyone was raving about The Fault in Our Stars, so I jumped on the band wagon and bought myself it! In the middle of my GCSEs, I sat down and because I was so stressed I read it. Yes I read it in like six hours but I didn't really enjoy it. I didn't connect with the characters and to be honest the ending didn't actually affect me. I really have been ashamed to admit that. But the next things that I say will make you hate me.

I absolutely despised Paper Towns. I hated it. The idea really annoyed me and I didn't find it funny at all. And don't even get me started about Looking For Alaska, I predicted all of that. Yes the prank at the end was rather funny but that was about it. It was all a bit too, oh this happened and it was this date so this is why this happened. It was really really obvious. Maybe it's because I read a lot of murder mystery books but it was just too obvious and to be obvious the characters really really annoyed me. I really didn't think that they were realistic.

I could only read 50 pages of An Abundance of Katherine's because the plot line was so bloody annoying. I'm sorry but who actually falls in love only because of a person's name. Ugh! It just seemed really pointless to me. Maybe it will be amazing when I've read it all but just the simply concept of it seemed pointless. Come on, I can't be the only person who actually thinks this.

These are simply my own opinions, I get that most people will be pissed off at me for this but this is simply a Confession of a Geeking Ginger; me. I love John, I really really do. Him and Hank are two of my favourite youtubers but his writing is not my cup of tea at all. You must be able to understand that; right.

Once again, this is only my opinion and I can understand that people really dislike my opinion but it is my opinion only. These are confessions that I am going to regularly do. So I hope that you now understand my opinion.

What about you, what do you think? Let me know, but please remember to be nice.

Why I Love To Read

23:30
I've always been asked the same question, over and over and over again. Why do you like to read? Oh the joys of going to school with intellectually inept people who probably don't even know what inept means! These are the short of people who think that Shakespeare is too 'dull' and that Rowling was a cheap for copying the work in the Harry Potter films, who was too lazy to actually write 8 book. Give me a moment so that I can go and repetitively my face with this fridge ... if anyone understands that reference then I will love you forever!

But recently I have been thinking about that question, Why do you like to read? And I think I finally have an answer. But first things first, I do not like to read; I love to read. Just glad that we've got that out of the way.

My dad was a reader. Maybe that's why I love to read so much; perhaps it genetic? But when I was little me and my dad would sit down and read together before I went to bed. It was only meant to be a chapter a night but it would become so much more than that! My dad was an amazing reader, he did all these amazing voices for all the different characters and I still read some of these characters in those voices today. Because of all the reading that we used to do, I think that's actually why I love to read.

But there are other things that make me love reading too! Think the main thing is that I can allow myself to submerge into different worlds and live the lives of different characters. That's something that I really do love. I didn't have the greatest time when I was younger, got to admit that I got bullied a lot when I was younger so to be able to hide my emotions by living in these worlds. You don't know how many times I would walk into my room, curl into bed and just engross myself into the lives of Harry, or Frodo or the Pevensie's. It was the one thing that really helped me I think; if I didn't have the books that I did then I probably would be worse for wears nowadays.

The thing that I do find funny is that the kids who asked the question, why do you like to read? Are the very people who forced me to cling to my books and the fictional worlds that they reside in because they are the idiots who tormented me so much. That is something that I do find funny. If I hadn't been treated like the by my peers then I probably wouldn't be the person that I am today. Strange really.

In a way, I do thank those idiotic people who treated me like that; it does mean a lot.

So, in answer to that question, I love reading, not like it, because not only did it help me to get through some tough time. But it helped me to become the woman that I am today. Also I think that it has helped me to adapt my imagination in such a way. When I read about Katniss' trials I can now picture it as if it were going on in my head; though I never see it like any of the films because God they can be awful!

That is probably the main reason that I love it read!

Oh the joys of being me

18:29
I don't know if people know this, but when the Harry Potter Studio tour has premiere events, they invite some of the fandom accounts off of Twitter to go.

One of my closest friends got to go last year for the Halloween Dark Arts event. It looked bloody amazing, if you'll excuse my French, and I have been jealous ever since.

A new event has just been announced. They are adding a perminant Hogwarts Express feature, holding an event to celebrate this. Loads of accounts that I know have been invited. Although I am extremely jealous, I am very happy for them. My friend got invited, again, and I was joking how I she should have taken me with her instead of her mum. I wasn't mad or anything; just pulling her leg about it all.

But then something absolutely amazing happens. One of the other girls who I'm close to has been invited and she asked me to have her spare ticket! I basically cried about it all. I was so happy. Not only was I going to get to go to the studios again but I was also going to get to meet my internet friends! I was beyond excited. But then I asked my parents .... and well ... I guess people are going to know where this is going.

Even though my mum and dad have met one of the girl's who is going; she went to my old school. They did not want me to go since I would have to travel on the train ... alone to London and back. Yes on the way there it would be alright but at back when there are some not very nice gentlemen or ladies on the train. Nope. So that was strike too. Also the event is on a Thursday, a school day. The event might not be until the evening but still I would have to get two different trains and then make my way to the studios too. And the final straw is that the next day j have an exam so ... yep ... as you can see there was no chance in hell they were letting me go.

My heart has been absolutely broken. I can't believe that I don't get to go and seeing everyone talking about it on Twitter has made me very very sad. I'm sorry if I snap at anyone because of that or if I randomly burst into tears :(

But who knows maybe the next time they do an event I might get an invite and actually be able to go! Who knows though!

Reading plan for a Potterhead

21:47
The Harry Potter series has been something that has formed my life completely. My dad reading me The Philosopher's Stone to me before I went to bed is one of my first memories and I feel like it has molded me into who I am today.

But, because of how busy my life has become, I have not had the chance to read the books in a while so have decided to do something that will allow me to read them all again. Starting from the first of March I am going to read a Harry Potter book each month. Initially this will start with series and then I will read the stand alone books that go with the series.

Here is the plan of action:

March: The Philosopher's Stone
April: The Chamber of Secrets
May: The Prisoner of Azkaban
June: The Goblet of Five
July: The Order of the Phoenix
August: The Half Blood Prince
September: The Deathly Hallows
October: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
November: Quidditch Through the Ages
December: The Tales of Beadle the Bard

I might do this again at some point with Tolkien's Books too; once I own all of them that is. But for now this is all do to Rowling.

So that's my aim for all this, my reading plan for a Potterhead. What do you all think?
Until next time

January Favourites

21:59
So this is a new segment that I have decided to include on this and basically each month I am going to talk about my favourite things that I have read or watched or listened to or eaten or ... well, you get what I'm trying to tell you.
Alright then, let's start.

Favourite Film:
So this is really really easy for me to say, so I thought I'd start off with this one. It's a bit of a cheat, I have to admit because I watched the beginning at the end of 2014 paused it to celebrate new year and then continued watching it. The film that I am talking about is .................................................................................. The Guardians of the Galaxy!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know that I'm a bit behind, that most people will have seen this film several months ago but I couldn't afford to see it in the cinema. Therefore I waited till it came out on DVD.
Guardians of the Galaxy, for those of you who don't know, is about a space adventurer who calls himself Star Lord finds himself in the company of relentless bounty hunters after he steals an orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain. To evade Ronan, he is forced into an uneasy truce with four other misfits. But then he discovers the truth about the orb and he and his team must save the universe.
Come on, that sounds awesome right! It really was amazing!!!!!!!

There is actually a second film that I can mention which was the best film of 2014 for me and that was obviously The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies. It may have destroyed my soul a fair bit but it was still completely beautiful.

Favourite TV Show: Now this is a hard one but I think that the main telly show that I have been completely in love with in January was Silent Witness. Though I was mad about the 100 too, for me silent witness was so much more amazing! Silent Witness, for those of you who don't know, is about a forensic scientist who helps solves crimes. These crimes occur over two episodes and they have the most amazing plot twists at the end. Watch this show, or you will never live!

Favourite Food: Red Velvet Cake. Do I really need to say any more? It was most definitely the food of 2014 but I can still be obsessed with it, right? What am I saying? I don't need to explain myself to people. I can eat what I like, even though it isn't the healthiest and it will eventually put on the weight that I've just lost that I need to lose again now. Oh who cares, time to get more cake!

Favourite Album: This one is easy, X (deluxe edition) by Ed Sheeran. Need I explain anymore? He is my ginger buddy, even though we have never met, therefore he will obviously be someone I listen to all the time. And he did the main song for The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, so of course I love him.

Favourite Song: This one is also obvious. I See Fire. Need I say anymore.

Favourite Product: I don't use a lot of makeupy, cosmeticy stuff. I'm not super girlie. I wear a bit but not a lot. But I do love my Mac Prep + Prime, Natural Radience Base Lumiere. It is basically something that you put on beneath foundation and concealer, but after your moisturiser. It stops makeup getting into your pores and it actually works .... when I remember to put it on.

Favourite Cosmetic: This one is was harder to pick but I have to say the new foundation that I've tried has definitely been my favourite cosmetic this month. This is the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation in light porcelain. This I really like because it's the only non Mac foundation that I have found which blends in with the skin completely. It's rather nice.

Favourite Musical: Though I have still not yet seen it live, and unless it comes to London then I will probably never get to see it live. I am completely in love with The Adams Family. It has the most amazing songs in it and I am constantly singing one of them. One I did in an audition at the start of February. It is amazing and I suggest that people watch it on Youtube.

Favourite Book: This is probably the easiest thing to mention, the rest of the time I have felt slightly conflicted about what should go where but I knew this one instantly. This book was been out for a few years, but in Booktober last year, Carrie Hope Fletcher read it and recommended it to all of my fellow hopefuls. If you haven't guessed, this book is The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting. I am not going to mention a lot about this book because it really will spoil it for everyone. But it is about a girl who can see, feel, smell the echoes that the dead leave behind. And she finds a body of a young girl who was murdered. More girls go missing and more bodies are found and she is the only one who can stop this guy.
I finished reading it at the train station when I was waiting to be picked up and I had a little bit of an emotional break down. An old lady came up to me, thinking that it was something to do with a relationship. It was actually rather funny, until a girl in the opposite seat said "wait till you read the next one" WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How can they say that! You can't!!!!!

Right, well that's that. I'm going to be doing one of these each month so it would be really nice if someone could think of some more sections to include. Oh, and tell me what you think too. What's been your favourite thing in January?

Until next time :)

My Year - 2014 (review)

23:42
This year has been a strange one.

For the main part I was completely stressed out because of my blooming G.C.S.Es which practically destroyed me since I had to do 28 blooming exams. But so many things really made my year; and truth be told I think it has been my best year in my life ... so far.

I went to see Kerry Ellis and Rory Taylor in RENT, the musical, on Valentines Day. It was a Christmas Present from my parents and I absolutely loved it!!!!

I was cast as the main singing part in our school musical, Grease. No, sadly, I was not Sandy. But at my old school, we had three or four singers that would sing in all the songs. These were the best singers and would create the harmonies as well as teach all the rest of the cast what to sing. And because I had done that before, two years ago, I was given the role of the head one. Which meant I personally decided on all the harmonies and I was the only soprano out of the group too! So that was awesome! Also, since I was a trusted student by the teachers in charge, they asked me to help them choreograph the different routines and stuff which was amazing!!!!!!!

Three days before the dress rehearsal I had the auditions for a performing arts school; something that I thought would only happen in my wildest dreams. Since about 2000 people applied and only 150 people were given an audition spot. I have to say that those two days were probably the best two days in my whole life ... at that point. It was amazing to be able to work alongside such wonderful people who aspired to be in the same industry as I wanted to be in. It was completely amazing.

And then I had the school play and I was able to do the school play. Something that I love every single time I do it; and I'm actually really really sad that I can't take part in it this year! It was so good this year because I got to take part and lead some vocal warm ups too. Ahhhh!!! And don't forget about the fact that I got to perform, something that I love to do!

After that, I found out that I got into the performing arts school, BOA, and I cried and screamed a little bit. I was even allowed to leave school five minutes early because my French teacher knew how nervous I was!

Then, I was in Italy. That trip was so beautiful! I loved every blooming minute of it. It was full of so many interesting and hilarious moments. It was my best mates birthday whilst we were away, and in Italy - for those of you who do not know - you can be served alcohol at the age of 14. This meant that she and my other friend who were in the room drank a few ... dozen bottles. Okay, they only drank two between them and they were fairly small but still it was quite amusing to watch. I don't drink, therefore I did not take part. But out there, I was able to bond with people I wouldn't usually bond with and it was really nice; as well as getting a great help for my exams.

Soon after I competed in a festival and won loads of categories - yay me!! And I was awarded the most promising voice in the whole of the vocal section; in which I was competing against adults!!!!! So yay me!!!!!

After that, there were my exams. Which I have to say were not completely hell on earth. A few of them, mainly my science exams, basically killed me. But the rest were alright. Once I got over the bulk of them in my first blooming week!!!!!!!!!! But, at the end of that first week, I went to see two shows and we found a ferret; who is now my baby boy and I love him to pieces!!!!! I actually enjoyed a few of my exams too, which I know is mad; but I did.

Then came the longest summer ever! Which was beautiful and I had a great leavers day; in which I dressed up as Arwen! And Prom. Well ... it was probably the first big party I've ever been to and I really enjoyed it, No I didn't go on the actually dance floor; but me and my friends danced at the back of the room in this large square we created and it was really really really fun. I felt really pretty that day; naturally pretty you know. And I did love the feeling. And truth be told, since then I have felt like that all the time.

I went to see six shows for my birthday and went to the Making of Harry Potter Studios in London!!!! Which was literally amazing and I loved it so much!!!! Someone take me back please!!!!!!

I then went on holiday with my parents to the Lake District, which - although it did cause me completely agony because I have a bad back - but it was beautiful and I got a lot of reading done too which was awesome!!!!! Oh and I went to see How To Train Your Dragon 2 as well, which killed me!

Little happened the rest of the summer, but I when I went back to school I started at BOA and it has been the most amazing experience of my life ... so far! I love it so much! And no matter how much I complain and moan about how hard it is and how the 20 minutes of ab work a week destroys me; I love it.

Little else has happened this year ... oh other than the fact that I hit 60,000 reads on the first book of my LOTR fanfic on Wattpad!!!!!!! Ekkk!!!!!

Oh, and I went to my first convention and met so many lovely actors! And so many nice cosplayers as well!!!!!

Finally, I went to see the Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies. This destroyed my soul so much ... even though the book is 75 year old and I know what happened but well it still killed me.

And Christmas was great too, so I think that my year has been a great one and I really can't wait to live 2015!!!!

So Happy New Year people! I hope 2015 is great for you all!!!

New Years Resolutions 2015

21:55
I want to change. Not drastically; only slightly. But I want to change myself for the better. So I have set myself some New Years resolutions that I do actually plan to stick to!!! Yay!!!!! Maybe not New Years resolutions, more like New Year goals. But I actually want to do them. So here you go.

1. To read more.
Yes I read a lot as it is, however, I really want to increase my reading over the year dramatically. Therefore, I have made myself a goal. By this time next year I want to have read 30 books. Wooo!!!!!!!

2. Upload more.
I really want to be able to upload loads more on all my sites. I might have to create a time table when to do this for my different websites. But that will most likely be done at a later date. The sites that I want to update frequently are ... well this .... Obviously (who else read that in Allan Rickman's voice?) ... Wattpad and YouTube. So I definitely will try to do that!

3. Become more organised.
This sort of links to the previous point. I am really really really unorganised. I leave everything to the last minute, which then stresses me out so much! Therefore, I am going to make myself a timetable or something that'll include practice, school work and other stuff; other stuff includes writing, blogging and general performing stuff.
Oh, this also includes my room. I want things to be tidier because when I get stressed I don't tidy things away and then my room becomes messy and that stresses me out even more. So I'm going to attempt to keep my room tidy all year round. I have tidied my room now so then I start off the new year with a tidy room. Maybe then that'll help me keep my room like that for the whole year.

4. To practice.
This, sadly, is something that I do not so enough. I barely practice my singing, acting and dance at all; just enough really to help me get by. But I want to do more than that. I want to really excell in my work; to become the best that I can be as a performer. This is mainly because I will be beginning to look for places at University's, meaning that there will be auditions against hundreds of other people ... get my drift?

5. Build my vocal repertoire.
Think this is fairly self explainitary. For those of you who don't know, a vocal repertoire is something that consists of loads of songs that can be used for auditions and performances and ... anything else that I'll need it for.

6. To care more about my looks.
For those who don't know me, they will probably think that that is completely shallow. But in the industry that I want to go into you have to know how to make yourself look attractive. This means that I am going to have to work on different things to do with my hair and make up so that I look fairly attractive!

7. Be healthier
This sort of links to my precious one. Basically, I am going to start going to the gym in the morning and eating more balanced, healthier meals. This means eating very few sweet things and fizzy pop and fast food :(

8. To play the piano again
I used to enjoy playing the piano, until one of my previous teachers made me hate it. However, I know that it will help me jn the long run. So, basically, I am going to teach myself how to play and then that should help with my signing and stuff too.

9. To become happier and more confident in myself
Think that is a given really; don't you?

10. To save up money and get a summer job
Think this makes sense too. Basically I want to buy a load of stuff, but to do that and I need money to do it

Yeah, so they are my New Years Resolutions/goals for 2015. Anything you think I should add to them? Please let me know.

Happy New Year people!!!

Top 14 Books of 2014

22:31
This year I have read so many amazing books but there have definitely been those that have stood out to me and those we follow me on twitter will know how some of these have affected me. Because of that I have decided to do this my top fourteen books of 2014. This is only my opinion and I don't think any of these books are actually new releases for 2014 - sorry if that's what you're looking for :(

14. So book fourteen is ..... The Da Vichi Code by Dan Brown. Just because this book is the last book on my list in now way makes it the worst book. Oh god no! This book was super amazing and it had me hooked from the very beginning. I mean I love this film - who doesn't life a little big oh Tom Hanks. But the book was so much better and Brown's research into everything and his depth of characters .... ugh! It was so good! Okay. A lot of you won't know what this book is about so I will give you a little preview. The Da Vinci Code follows the story of Robert Langdon in his second book - thought I would mention that since I made that mistake myself the first time I picked the book up - in which a man he was going to meet who is the curator of The Louvre is violently murdered and the police think that Langdon had something to do with it. Whilst escaping the police he and the granddaughter of the curator, Sophie Neveu, have to decipher a load of clues and riddles in order to find out everything that is going on. And it all has something to do with the Holy Grail.

I'm sorry it that was a completely awful summery of the book but it's so hard to write anything about it without giving away the plot line. This book was so amazing and if I haven't have read so many other magnificent books this year, I suspect that it would have easily made it into my top 5 at least.

13. The next book in my list was The Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer. How can I describe this book? Well ... It's a little bit odd. It is written from the point of view of a boy with schizophrenia and this is perfectly shown through the abstractness of the whole book! The writing style is like that of a young child - similar to that of a book that I am studying for A-level English literature which is bloody awful - and it actually works. It uses a lot of thought in it and it clearly shows the characters emotions and thoughts to the reader straight away. Something which I think is so beautiful.

I can't really summarise this book with out giving everything away; yes, it's one of those books. So I shall write you the blurb.

'I'll tell you what happened because it will be a good way to introduce my brother. His name's Simon. I think you're going to like him. I really do. Bit in a few pages he'll be dead. And he was never the same after that.'

What the hell! I mean what the absolute hell! How awesome does that sound. And that, fangirls and fanboys, is why this book is in my top 14 books of this year. It literally took me no time to read because the chapters were minuscule and the character's story was so interesting that I literally couldn't put it down!

12. Gone by Michael Grant is the next book on my list. Now then, this book was awesome, don't get me wrong but it went a lot further than I expected it to. I know that there are several more books in the series because when I went to buy it in the shop there were about twenty of them all lined up and looking really really beautiful. Well ... maybe not twenty ... but there were a lot of them. So when I read the book I was expecting it to finish long before the timer ran out. Oh ... I haven't mentioned the timer yet have I. Well, basically at the start of each chapter there is a countdown to ... no ... I'm not going to tell you that, you'll have to read the book to find it out. Anyway, I saw the countdown kept going down and that the book wasn't getting near the end anytime soon so I was really really confused. But this book actually really suites this because I don't think the story line would work without it ..... I'm rambling now aren't I ..... sorry .... it's like 2:00 am at the minute and I can't sleep.

A brief summery of this book is that:
One day in a small town in America, suddenly over the age of fifteen disappeared. That sounds pretty awesome when you think about it initially. However, these children soon discover that they are trapped in a dome of sorts and that as soon as you hit your fifteenth birthday, you disappear. As time goes on, things begin to get a bit violent as the resources begin to wane. And people begin to have these powers; these mutant powers. Children, alone and with magic powers. That's really going to work out well for everyone.

This book, I have to be honest with you, I loved it from the very beginning. It is beautifully written and incised me instantly. It is so action packed and I am really excited to discover what happens in the next book .... when I eventually get round to reading it.

11. This next book is something that I suspect would have been part of someone else's top five, at least. However I was not too impressed with it. Don't get me wrong, I did like it, but I really don't see all the hullabaloo about it. If you haven't guessed yet, then I suppose I will tell you what it is. Number eleven on my top fourteen books of 2014 is The Fault In Our Stars by John Green,

For those of you who don't know, the Fault in our Stars is about two teenagers who both have different forms of cancer. Basically they meet at a cancer support group and fall in love.

Think that's the easiest way to describe it to you. And if you don't know what it's about, have you been living under a rock for the past few years?

Okay, I'm going to admit something to you all. I did not cry when I read the book. It did not upset that much. I read it in the middle of my exams, I was super stressed out and just curled up in bed with about three buckets worth of chocolate and read it in about five hours. Maybe it was because I was so stressed out that I didn't get so emotionally attached to the characters; but I just didn't/ It was a good book but I really don't see why everyone loves it so much.

10. City of Bones is a book that I actually began in 2013; however I didn't read it all until this year so it is allowed. It is by Cassandra Clare and puts a whole new spin, for me anyway, on demon hunting books.

Basically it is about a young girl, who's mother disappears, and she learns  that she descends from a lines of warriors who protect our world from demons. She then joins forces with others like her and heads into an alternate, far more dangerous version, of New York City; known as Downworld.

I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would, and yes it took me a few chapters to get into to it completely. But it did interest me from the very beginning.

9. Although this book took me a while to get into it, I was so glad I read it because it is blooming amazing. Number nine on my list is The Maze Runner by James Dashner. I think that everyone will agree with me when I say this, this book is definitely  nothing like any other book that's out there. Yes, few dystopian books are identical but this is far from anything out there.

If you don't know it is basically about a young boy who wakes up in a lift that takes him to a maze. He has no memory of anything before that. He only knows his name. And in this maze there are other boys; all of whom don't know their past. Since his arrival, nothing in the maze is the same.

Is that a really bad synopsis? I'm rubbish at them!!!! Anyway ... this book is so good, though I did have to start it three or four times to actually get into it; but once I got past the initally difficulty I really enjoyed it.

When I finished the final chapter I was a bit disappointed to be honest; they built the book up and then it just sort of ended. However, when I turned the final page ..... OMG!!!!!!! Pure genius!

8. The Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin is amazing, though very difficult to read and fairly embarrassing when you read it on public transport, especially with the multitude of sex scenes in it, and since a lady one time next to me was reading it over my shoulder. This lady was at least sixty and I think she was getting off of it. Ugh! CRINGE!!!

I can't really give it a plot summery because it is so long winded, however basically it follows the story of different characters that live in this world called Westeros. The book mainly revolves around the Stark family and how Eddard - the father - is asked to become the Hand of the King. And ... well ... basically .... well it all goes to shit!

7. When Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern or Love Rosie as it is known now is such a beautiful book. It was written in a way that I really doubted I would like - through the exchange of letters, emails, etc between Alex and Rosie. Usually I don't like this style but in this book it was written so beautifully and the characters emotions came through so perfectly that I had to love it! And the ending!!!! Ugh!!!!!

A rough idea of the book is that it follows the story of Rosie and her best friend Alex as they grow up and begin to realise that they are completely and utterly in love with one another. Though different things in life get in their way.

And there is really very little else I can say about this book; it is too beautiful to describe in any number of words. Other than one of course, beautiful.

6. This is the second time that Dan Brown will be on this list and that is because he is such a blooming amazing author. This time, it is with Angels and Demons; this is his first book, though it was the second film which is blooming confusing; don't you think!

This follows the story of Robert Langdon who is called to investigate the symbolical meaning behind a murder of a man who helped create the largest amount of anti-matter. This anti-matter was stolen and placed somewhere inside of Vatican City around the most important time for all the Catholics in the world; conclave after the sudden death of the Pope.

Let me tell you something about Dan Brown's writing. It is pure genius!!!! Literally! He is such an amazing author who really doesn't give anything away until it is absolutely necessary. And then when he does, you are so shocked by it all. He doesn't always end chapters with it either, sometimes he'll just throw it into the middle of a chapter and then you just sit there thinking; what did I just read, wait what???? Meaning then that you have to go back and reread it!

But that huge moment that there is at the end when the main mystery is revealed whether that be a key murder or the riddle is finally solved; you realise that he has been subtly hinting at it through out the whole book. Dan Brown is truly a legend!

5. Uglies by Scott Westerfield is the next book on my list. This book I read most of when I was lying beside one of the lakes in the lake district this summer in this blistering heat; I got a horrid sunburn from it. This book I had no idea if I was going to love it or not; one of my friends had suggest for me to read it about two years ago and I only just got round to it and I have never been so enticed by it.

It is based in a dystopian future in which everyone at the age of sixteen is given extreme plastic surgery in order to look beautiful. Tally Youngblood and her friend, Shay, rebel against this vision and meet people who look just as we do now a days.

Uglies is so beautiful because it expresses the idea that you don't have to conform to society in order to be pretty; that everyone is pretty in their own rights. And that is probably why this book is in my top five. It is shows young girls .... and boys ... that they don't have to be conventionally pretty in order to fall in love. Something which people now a days really don't understand!

4. The Enemy by Charlie Higson is such a blooming amazing book and I wish it could be higher than this but the top three were truly outstanding reads so I really couldn't place this any higher. But it is so amazing!!!

Basically the book takes in London, after a worldwide sickness that has infected adults; either killing them off or turning them into cannibalistic zombies. The children live in the post-apocalyptic world and since their is little food left in their area then they are forced to travel somewhere else. A boy they rescue says that there is a safe heaven in Buckingham palace; but could it be too good to be true.

Although it's a horror - something that I probably read the least of - it is blooming brilliant. And I'm loving apocalyptic books at the minute; so I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

3. This book has the be the one book that I have ever read in my whole life that I can relate to completely since I obviously am one. Number three in my top 14 books of 2014 is Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. If you haven't read this yet; go an read it now!!!!!! Rainbow Rowell has basically created a book that is completely us. And it is brilliant.

Fangirl follows the story of the story of Cath who goes away to college with her twin sister, Wren, who suddenly decides that she wants her own life. Cath struggles to accept this but goes along with it, having to get a new room mate and live like any ordinary teenager. However, Cath is a fangirl who writes fanfiction on the Simon Snow series and she uses these books as an escape. Her fanfiction is very famous on the internet. As well as learning to balance her writing for pleasure and her writing for school, Cath is flung into a new environment and is forced to create new friends; oh the horror.

I literally had to write that like seven times because I wanted to reveal so much to you that would probably reveal the whole plot line. As you can probably tell by the way I am rambling; I loved this book. It was perfection and Rainbow Rowell really put across the struggles that we, as fangirls and boys, regularly face in everyday life!

I truly cannot wait to buy the rest of her books; this woman is a gift!

2. Procession of the Dead by Darren Shan is a book that was given to me by one of my closest friends for my last birthday. And I literally couldn't put it down. My dear friend was actually absent on my birthday - I don't blame her for that though, it was in the middle of our G.C.S.Es and she didn't have an exam so she had the day off - so she gave it to me the next day. Along with another book that I won't talk about at this moment in time. After the exam of that day, I didn't know it but my dad was taking me and my mum to go and see a musical for our birthdays - her's is the day after mine. He spoiled us by getting us first class virgin tickets - OMG! - and booked a table. For basically the whole trip there, I read the book. I read it when we stopped when we were walking round London. I read it before the show. I read it in the interval. I read it on the train back. This book was amazing! It also helps that I have a certain love for Darren Shan; have done since I picked up one of his books for the first time - something that me and my dear friend constantly bond over.
I've gone off topic now.

Basically, Procession of the Dead follows the story of Capac Raimi who arrives at The City in order to make his mark in the world and follow his uncle; he wanted to become a gangster. And because of this he runs face to face into the Cardinal - the leader of the city. As Capac grows more and more ambitious, he begins to learn what the true cost of ultimate power is.

How awesome does it sound!!!! It is so awesome!!! I love it!!! I really really do!!! Yes. It is insanely rude and graphic but it is just written in a way that is far too beautiful to explain!!!

And that is why Procession of the Dead is the second book on my top fourteen books of 2014.

1. This has been the easiest to place because it was so astounding and I loved every single bit of it. I'm always suggesting this book to people and as soon as you know what it is you will understand!
My top read of 2014 is The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey.

The 5th Waves follows the story of Cassie Sullivan, a sixteen year old girl who is attempting to survive in a world that has been almost completely destroyed by the waves of an alien invasion. Cassie is all alone and knows from experience not to trust anyone; the only thing she wants to do is to save her baby brother Sammy.

This book is brilliant. One of my friends did the review for it before it came out and she said how outstanding it was; and truth be told I didn't believe her. Until I read the blurb. OMG! It intrigued me instantly because of the few lines that are quoted from the book itself.

The 1st wave took out half a million people.
The 2nd wave put that number to shame.
The 3rd wave lasted longer. Twelve weeks ... four billion dead.
In the 4th wave, you can't trust that people are still people.
And the 5th wave?
No one knows.
But it's coming.

How blooming epic is that extract!!!! Ugh! This book is so amazingly written and Rick Yancey has this imagination that is on the same scale as Tolkien and Rowling!!!! I can not wait to read the rest of the trilogy. I'm going shopping so might buy the latest book then and pray that it lives up to the mountainous standards that he has created for himself. Rick Yancey, I tip my hat at you sir!!!!

And that, people, is it. That is my top 14 books of 2014. It has been a good reading year for me, and I hope next year will be the same too.
Please let me know if you have read any of these books and if so where you would rank them. Or what book would be your top book of the year. I really need some new read selections so please let me know.
Love you all

My disturbing imagination as a child

07:47
Earlier this year I watched Sweeney Todd, the film adaptation of the music with Johnny Depp, Helena Bohnam Carter etc in, for the first time and I loved it, obviously.

But a few weeks ago I watched it again and I remembered something quite disturbing!

When I was younger I was in a performing arts class in a small town near me. Bare in mind that I started when I was about 5 and finished when I was about 10. I'd done my 3 show with them - 2 shows twice a year - and we were playing a few improvisation games. Basically we were put into pairs and we had to make up a story that would involve the other people in the room somehow as long as it had something to do with a prop. Truth be told I have no clue what some of the props were, but I remember mine. It was a pair of giant, red scissors ..... I think some of you now where I'm going with this.

So me and this other girl, you know I've quite forgotten her name, decided that we were going to be crazy hair dressers and we would randomly kill some of our costumers; putting their organs into sandwiches and selling them.

Now bare in mind that I was like 6 when I did this.

Next we got a load of the blocks that were scattered around the room and built a podium ... It's weird how clear this is in my mind .... And in the middle of the podium there was a hole that had some landing mats in it. There was a chair on there too. A chair that was just behind the hole.

I remember performing it and snipping people's heads so that they tumbled into the hole and we were told how creative we were; even though the piece was quite gory.

I was six and I basically created Sweeney Todd! What the hell!!!!! I'd never heard of it; not the film or the book. So why was it making a play about it.

I had a disturbing imagination as a child I really did!

Please don't tell me I'm the only one! Tell me that people have done disturbing things like this too!!!

Please comment and tell me!

Deadlines

07:49
Deadlines.
They are a nightmare.
Need I say anymore. For those of you who don't know, I am at a performing arts school doing my a-levels and today is my first deadline. I've always heard people saying how stressful deadlines are, but I didn't understand until today.

I started my coursework like I would start a piece of homework, later than it was set. I was given what ... Three months to do this piece of coursework and I started it near the end of month two!!!!! Opps!!!! And it has stressed me out so much!

I was up so late finishing some of it off and I still have a little bit more to do when I get to school! And when I wanted to finish it the other day, we ran out of printer paper!

WHAT EVEN IS LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I basically think that someone somewhere has it out for me!
My printer took forever to prit everything out last night; usually only printing half of it out! And my dog was constantly trying to sit on my lap because I was obviously sat on the floor because of him and for no other reason what so ever. Now, that was cute. Don't get me wrong. But it just felt bad because he kept giving me those eyes that mean say "do you not love mean?" "If you loved me you'd let me sit on your lap" "why don't you love me"
WHY DO YOU ATTACK ME WITH SO MUCH GUILT????

Anyway, eventually I got most of it done and it was nice; that moment of delight to know that all I had to do was annotate a script and that was it!! HURAH!!!!

And then I remembered something else. I have another deadline that I haven't really been concentrating on because of this unit and that deadline is on the 15th and I've barely started it and now I'm hyperventilating and the lady besides me is looking at me like I'm a freak. Oh, I'm on the train by the way. So that's delightful, isn't it!!!!!!!!

And this weekend I am performing, teaching and I have a meal to go to!!!! Ugh!  The world hates me!

Oh and next week is my first assessment week in which I have 8 different things and ugh!!

Just now realising how many times I write "ugh" ... It's quite a lot!

So next week, not only will I be preparing for two auditions the week after, but I will be rehearsing everything and be writing the rest of this coursework!

YAY!!!!!

Basically, what I am trying to say is don't put things off for a while. Do everything as soon as it had been set, especially for deadlines, because else you feel as stressed as I am at this moment in time.

Basically, the moral of my story is .... Ummm ... Well don't be this ginger!

I'll see you all soon!
